Kitty Lam began her classical piano training at the age of six and is currently studying with Ellen Silverman, the former Head of Piano Division at Douglas College. Kitty’s musical credentials include an L.T.C.L (performance) from the Trinity College of Music. Kitty has received multiple prizes from local piano competitions as a solo performer.

Kitty has been actively performing as a solo pianist, accompanist as well as chamber musician for weddings, social events, choirs and worship teams for over 20 years. She is currently the Principal Pianist of the Vancouver Pops Orchestra and has been regularly performing with Symphony 21. In 2020. Kitty joined violist Thomas Beckman and founded the classical group Arbutus Duo for viola and piano. In additional to producing concerts in cozy settings, the group has been presented by the KnoxVan Instrumental Measures  (November 2020) and most recently by High Beam Dream (November, 2021) in Gibsons, BC.

Apart from performing music, Kitty is also working as a full-time Data Engineer. She obtained her Master in Engineering degree after a B.Sc in Computer Science from the University of British Columbia. Beside practicing piano and spending time with her daughter, she also enjoys cooking, photography and travelling.
